The bedfellows aren't strange when the bed is Islam

Bloodthirsty, rapacious, and rapist, yes, but unexpected?  At least Sunnis and Shiites can agree on something.

One Muslim leader of a formerly decent-because-it-was-Muslim-in-Name-Only state flaunts his close ties to a genocidal, nuclear, Muslim despot with American blood on his hands who happens to be harboring a wealthy, college-educated, revered-by-Muslims-around-the-world mass murderer responsible for slaughtering thousands of Americans with their own planes, all in order to taunt our allegedly-former-Muslim-in-Chief.

But he wants to investigate the Jews!
. . . senior Obama administration officials have been telling foreign governments that the administration intends to support an effort next week at the United Nations to set up an independent commission, under UN auspices, to investigate Israel's behavior in the Gaza flotilla incident. The White House has apparently shrugged off concerns from elsewhere in the U.S. government that a) this is an extraordinary singling out of Israel, since all kinds of much worse incidents happen around the world without spurring UN investigations; b) that the investigation will be one-sided, focusing entirely on Israeli behavior and not on Turkey or on Hamas; and c) that this sets a terrible precedent for outside investigations of incidents involving U.S. troops or intelligence operatives as we conduct our own war on terror.

While UN Ambassador Susan Rice is reported to have played an important role in pushing for U.S. support of a UN investigation, the decision is, one official stressed, of course the president's. The government of Israel has been consulting with the U.S. government on its own Israeli investigative panel, to be led by a retired supreme court justice, that would include respected international participants, including one from the U.S. But the Obama administration is reportedly saying that such a “kosher panel” is not good enough to satisfy the international community, or the Obama White House.
Osama hides in Iran while Obama hides from basic human decency. From here:
Osama bin Laden's hiding place was pinned down for the first time Monday, June 7, by the Kuwaiti Al-Siyassa Monday, June 7, as the mountainous town of Savzevar in the northeastern Iranian province of Khorasan, 220 km west of Mashhad. He is said to have lived there under Tehran's protection for the last five years, along with Ayman Al-Zawahiri and five other high-ranking al Qaeda leaders.

. . . Turkish prime minister Recep Erdogan and his intelligence chiefs are well aware that Bin Laden and Zawahiri are hiding in Iran. The leak to the Kuwait paper was intended to show the Obama administration that the Turkish leader's ties with Iran had grown intense enough for him to be fully in the picture of Iran's secret sanctuary for the authors of the 9/11 attacks on the United States.

If you think that the second class status forced on the dhimmi peoples under Islamic tyranny was a "golden age," then you've got good times ahead

Since all people are born with a natural knowledge of God, why is it that only Muslims think it is a holy thing to enslave, rape, and slaughter for their deity?

In response to someone who needs to work on his social skills, here:
Being neither Greek, Turkish nor a believer in any of the 3 middle Eastern religions I would like to make the admittedly trite point that which if any of those faiths you happen to follow depends almost entirely upon where you happen to be born. (This observation is not an invitation for Amillennialist to give me a theological treatise on why the Creator chooses to separate the righteous from the infidels at birth.)

On a purely factual point, the Ottoman Empire did not require its citizens to convert to Islam. The Millet system gave a large degree of autonomy to other cultural and religious groups. That is why the Orthodox Church and the Greek culture survived intact during 500 years or so of Turkish domination and kept the dream of Byzantium alive.
That's an interesting rhetorical technique. Do you find that insult as a form of introduction is effective in making friends and influencing people?

If not an invitation to a dissertation, your uncharitable and arrogant nescience is certainly an invitation to correction.

First, the God of the Bible does not "separate the righteous from the infidels at birth." YHWH gives life to all, Christ died to pay completely for the sins of all, and the Holy Spirit brings the saving Gospel message to all. So, it is not God who separates and condemns, it is those who persist in evil who condemn themselves. Since all people are born with a conscience, an innate understanding of right and wrong (even though it is fallible in all of us, it's there), there's no way on Earth that a Muslim doesn't know that it's wrong to enslave, rape, and butcher others solely on the basis of religious belief.

Second, the whole "3 middle eastern religions" nonsense is a false construct set up by Muhammad and Muslims in order to confuse, propagandize, and deceive non-Muslims into either conversion or submission, for how can you criticize another religion just like yours, unless you're some kind of "Islamophobe," some kind of racist?

Finally, considering the history of jihad, its resurgence, and the fact that you reject the "3 middle eastern religions," you should know that when Islam comes to town in full force, you'll be one of the first under the sword. As a pagan/atheist/agnostic (?) you will not be afforded the "protections" (against Muslims) granted the "People of the Book," those mythological creatures you've been propagandized into thinking enjoyed such a golden age under Ottoman rule.

I suppose if you think that the second class status forced on the dhimmi peoples under Islamic tyranny -- which includes constant degradations, humiliations, oppressions, and violations of you and yours, including genocide and rape -- is acceptable, then you've got good times ahead.
He'll be enjoying them alone.

Faith in democracy misguided

That in which so many people put their faith as "democracy" is actually the worldview derived from the doctrines of Christ and codified as a system of government in America's Declaration of Independence and Constitution -- especially the Bill of Rights.

These two documents recognize and guarantee the equality of rights -- especially the Rights to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness -- to all, regardless of race, national origin, socioeconomic status, political party, or non-genocidal, non-totalitarian "religion" (yes, I exclude intentionally Islam and every other fascist, murderous ideology, for the Constitution is not a suicide pact).

Of what value is "democracy" when the majority recognize they can vote to themselves the fruits of a prosperous minority's labor?

Even worse, when the majority demands shari'a and the Hell on Earth that it creates?

More from here, where a poster stumbles on a possible remedy for Islam in the West:
"Democracy doesn't lose every time
Someone metioned this earlier. However, with all of its imperfections, no one mentioned Turkey. When you take a closer look at what Ataturk had to do to establish democracy there, one can see a possible model for other countries in the middle east."
Democracy is only a tool used by [faithful] Muslims to institute Shari'a.

And Ataturk suppressed Islam by force and forbade its traditional political expression.

Are you implying we should do the same?

Hugh Hewitt still missing the big picture

From "moderate," modern Turkey (let's let them into the EU!):
"Speaking at Kanal D TV’s Arena program, PM Erdogan commented on the term “moderate Islam”, often used in the West to describe AKP and said, ‘These descriptions are very ugly, it is offensive and an insult to our religion. There is no moderate or immoderate Islam. Islam is Islam and that’s it.”

Source: Milliyet, Turkey, August 21, 2007"
Two years after inviting unindicted co-conspirator CAIR onto his program as an authority on Islam, Hugh is still willfully ignorant of what fuels the global jihad: the command of Allah and the example of his false prophet.

Qur'an and Sunnah require the faithful to war against all non-Muslims who refuse to either convert to Islam or to submit to an oppressive and humiliating second-class status as dhimmis.

This is neither "funamentalist," "radical," nor "extremist" Islam -- this is Islam.

(Does Hugh know how long the Sunni/Shia conflict has raged and why?)

In light of the "divine" mandate for Infidel bloodshed in establishing the tyranny of Allah over all mankind, how wise is it to spend one more drop of American blood or one more dime of American treasure in service to Islam?

If our forces stay in Iraq to kill faithful Muslims obeying the call to advance jihad or to prepare for other fronts in our War of Self-Defense Against Allah, then that is a proper use of our military.

If our bravest and best continue to sacrifice life and limb for a Commander-in-Chief who persists in the delusion that Islam is a "great" world "religion of peace," whose adherents will love us if only we give enough, then that is a crime and a tragedy.

President Bush has used our military to enshrine Shari'a -- Islamic law -- in Iraq's constitution. He advocates an independent Kosovo. (Apparently, Islamic terrorism does pay.)

Hugh facilitates this ill-informed, suicidal policy by promoting the same false Islam.

How can this be ...

. . . since Islam is the "Religion of Peace"?

From WND, Mein Kampf bestseller in Turkey:
The infamous manifesto penned in prison during the 1920s by one of history's greatest despots has become a bestseller in Turkey, a troubling sign of increasing anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism.

Since January, Mein Kampf has sold more than 50,000 copies, rising to No. 4 on the bestseller list. The book outlines Hitler's plans for world domination and his intense hatred of the Jewish people.

"A lot of people in the West don't realize this has always been a popular book among radical Muslims," says Steve Hagerman, founder of Turkish World Outreach. "They think it's a tragedy Hitler didn't win the war. This is symptomatic of growing anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism in the country."

Hagerman is concerned about a resurgence of conservative Islam in Turkey, which he believes is promoted and funded by Iran and Saudi Arabia.

"Turkey is a different place right now," Hagerman observes. "The military, the radical Muslims and the secularists are becoming more and more anti-American," he says. "Literalist Islam is teaching the Muslims to hate the Jews and to hate democracy. Their belief in Muslim eschatology is that the world is destined to be conquered by Islam."
Let's do the math: "radical Muslims" = "conservative Islam" = "Literalist Islam" = hatred of Jews = hatred of democracy = the world will be conquered by Islam.

This is because the Qur'an is the most vile piece of hate literature ever devised by man. Islam has caused vastly more death, pain, and destruction than has Nazism, Communism and any other "-ism" you can name.

At least Hitler never claimed to be speaking for a (malevolent and perverse) god.
